Event Details

The Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) training program systematically teaches the practice of mindfulness and its application to stress reduction, self-reflection and the mobilization of inner resources to support health, healing, cognitive performance and personal growth.

Beginners and experienced are welcome.

The course is modeled on the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) principles developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and Saki Santorelli at the Center for Mindfulness in the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

The course is facilitated by Mark Dannenfelser, MA, LPC

Mark is founding director of the Mindfulness Center of Atlanta, whose mission is to increase the well-being and healing of those experiencing chronic stress and psychological/physical distress, as well as to increase optimal functioning in the areas of health, education, spirituality and work. www.mindfulnesscenteratlanta.com

Mark is a licensed professional counselor in private practice and an adjunct lecturer in the graduate theology program at Spring Hill College. Mark is a Center for Mindfulness (U. Mass Medical Center) qualified teacher of MBSR, a certified spiritual director, a registered yoga teacher, and a Contemplative Outreach commissioned presenter of the Centering Prayer method for the Aquinas Center of Theology at Emory University.

 Investment: $490.00

If paying by check to register, your registration is marked as tentative until the check is received.

What is included in your cost: 8 in-person 2.5 hr. Tuesday evening classes, 1 full day retreat-8 hrs. on a Saturday, all program handouts and audio recordings)

Cancellation Policy: Full refund if cancelled at least 14 days prior to the start of the retreat.  If within that 14 day period, you may apply this amount to another retreat offered by Ignatius House, to be used within 12 months of the cancellation.  Alternatively, you may choose to donate that amount to the ministry of Ignatius House.  After 12 months, any un-applied credits are counted as a general donation.

Event Details

The Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) retreat will teach the practice of mindfulness meditation (present moment, non-judgmental awareness) and its application to stress reduction, self-reflection and the mobilization of inner resources to support health, healing, spiritual enrichment and personal growth.

Retreat participants will experience guidance in mindfulness meditation skills, mindful yoga practice, group dialogue, periods of extended silence, rest and relaxation. Opportunities for individual meetings with the retreat director for additional instruction, guidance and/or support will be provided.

The retreat is modeled on the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) principles developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and Saki Santorelli at the Center for Mindfulness in the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

Beginners and experienced participants are welcome!

Note: All participants will have the option to participate or to refrain from certain exercises according to their own comfort and safety levels.

What is included in your cost: 2 nights in single private room with a private bath, linens and towels. Delicious meals along with snacks, beverages and coffee are provided. Should you have specific dietary needs please contact us at the time of reservations.
