This day long Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) retreat of silent, extended practice is designed especially for those who have had some prior experience with mindfulness practice. It is an opportunity to deepen your mindfulness practice. The retreat is modeled on the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) principles developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and Saki Santorelli at the Center for Mindfulness in the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
Take some quiet, reflective time to cultivate a sense of presence from moment to moment. Mindfulness practices during the day will include sitting meditation, body scan, walking, gentle yoga.
All participants will have the option to participate or to refrain from certain exercises according to their own comfort and safety levels.Past students from the Mindfulness Center of Atlanta will join with students who are currently taking the Center’s 8-week MBSR course. This is a wonderful opportunity to join with others for community practice!
NOTE: A prerequisite for attending this Day of Mindfulness is that you have completed an 8- week MBSR course or an Intensive MBSR Weekend Retreat.
NOTE: Students currently enrolled in the MBSR 8-week course must register here.
