Mindfulness Center of Atlanta

The practice of mindfulness helps train and refine the mind and body to become more stable and insightful, thereby increasing optimal functioning. It integrates scientifically proven methods various modern sciences, including medicine and psychology, with the core of the world’s ancient meditative and wisdom traditions.

Why Mindfulness?

Scientific research shows evidence that mindfulness training can:

  • Increase your ability to cope with stress, pain and other health conditions by reducing stress hormones and inflammation markers
  • Increase your cognitive functioning, creativity, insight, mental clarity and awareness, and reduce rumination
  • Increase your emotional resilience by activating positive emotion circuits
  • Increase your serotonin levels, supporting positive mood, better sleep and digestion

“Mindfulness is simply being aware of what is happening right now without wishing it were different; enjoying the pleasant without holding on when it changes (which it will); being with the unpleasant without fearing it will always be this way (which it won’t).” ~James Baraz
